I vote for #1 Mitchells Wool Fat, #2 Tabac, #3 Straight Razor Designs. Tabac is the easiest soap, for me, to lather, followed by SRD's, then MWF. Once you get MWF dialed in, it is awesome. Good luck on your quest.

Thanked: 375Bob, Slatterroy sounds good as I I like bayrum. Neroli, I'm not sure I've encountered that one yet, citrus sounds good though. The only one i wasn't sure about was the pine tar, hope they send some free samples...

While you got a long list and a good list already I think your missing pre de Provence. Nice subtle sage scent and great lather. Face feels great after using it.

Never had a bayrum soap but it does smell warm and spicy so I guess that is it and it is pleasant. Neither are over bearing in the scent department and lather easily. Yea, I was a little leery of the pine tar too. I think you will likely get a free sample too.

Thanked: 0Based on the wonderful recommendations from all of you, I have decided to try these (you know I couldn't stop at one!) —
Cella
Tabac
Mitchell's Wool Fat
Stirling
D. R. Harris
I would have also gone for Mike's Natural, but they were out of stock of the unscented one I wanted to try.
