Yea, it generally is cost/benefit that I look at but you never know every once in awhile I allow myself to do something foolish and splurge. Oddly enough the older I get the more often I allow myself that privilege. I have not a doubt in my mind that MCD is not 4 times the soap that Tabac is.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news - I love Tabac but MdC blows it out of the water. It lathers easier, is slicker, more moisturizing and leaves your skin feeling better. The only edge Tabac might have is the scent; if you like manly scents then MdC might not be at the top of that list, although I've yet to see a thread or 20 about the polarizing scent of MdC

I have to agree with Ryan here. MDC is at the top of my soap list.

Just like he said, the weakest link for me is the scent of MDC which is subjective anyway.....

Never questioned the oft stated opinion that MdC is the top of the heap, especially when it comes from people on here that I respect. So you are not the bearer of bad news.
MdC seems to be one of those sacred cows whose cost should never be questioned and it be just taken for granted that it is worth it. There are a few products like that.
Ultimately the only way for me to find out if that holds true for me is to try it. Who knows that might happen.

And you can add me to the MdC fan club as well. It tops any other soap by far in my opinion, and I really enjoy the scent. And to give you perspective, Tabac was probably my favourite until I tried MdC

Don't get me wrong guys, MdC is my favorite soap by a country mile, but I don't think it's 4 times better than tabac. But I did just shell out another 63 clams for a new jar, so I guess I think it's worth the hype

Did we forget to mention that a jar will last (almost) forever?

You would think one of these kind gents could spare you a small sample wouldn't you, unfortunately the sample from my jar is already promised away or I would help you out.

But isn't this meant to be a tabac thread?
