Classic Shaving Brand Shaving soap lather qualities
Does anyone have opinions of Classic Shaving Brand Shaving soap? I've tried three different ones and they lather up well but the do not seem to stay lathered on my face. I'm not sure if it is the hardness of my water or the particular brand of soap. Anyone have similar thoughts?? MikeB

My wife has had fairly good results with it so far and likes it better than Williams.
From the times I've helped her shave (she's just learning to use a DE) it seems like a drier/less slippery lather than what I get with Colleen's soaps. I've tried varying the amount of water I add, mixing it more/less, etc. but I can't seemed to get same quality lather I get from Colleen's soaps no matter what I try. I'd put it somewhere between Williams and TGQ as far as soaps go in my experiences with it.

It's ok but there are other glycerin soaps that are better IMHO. I have a couple pucks of CS soap in mugs that don't get much use anymore since I tried Mama Bear soap. When I do use them I generally add a little shot of Palmolive cream to richen up the later a bit.

Thanked: 9Haven't used one but also heard it's not all that. I have had best experiences with Honeybee's soaps (haven't tried Mama Bear)
Cheers

I've used them in the past and found them to be quality soaps though there are better out there. I've gravitated to trumpers and haslinger.

Thanked: 0It has been the most difficult of perhaps a dozen soaps I have tried to first get a lather and then to keep the lather on my face. I just started using the Almond cake as a bath soap and can hardly even get a lather in the shower. Pity, as it smells great.
