Default Los Angeles Shaving Soap-Tried It-Like It!

My tub of Los Angeles Shaving Soap in the Woody Lavender scent arrived yesterday. After trying and really liking 4 different samples from Maggard Razors, I decided to go with the WL. I liked the Topanga Fougère scent better, but not 50% better: $16 vs. $24. Many have compared the LASS soap to MdC. The owner tried to reverse engineer the MdC. I can’t speak to that, not having used MdC yet (I guess if you find it very close, $24 still beats the heck out of $60+ for MdC). I can say that this is a great soap. It is a soft croap and very easy to lather, even in my ROCK hard water. It doesn’t take much soap to get a lot of creamy, thick, and very cushioning lather. My face feels great. Those of you that have used both can comment on how they compare. The bottom line for me is that this is an excellent artisan soap line.

I received a couple samples of this soap, and they lathered extremely easily with just a small amount of soap. The scents were fantastic, I tried the Fougere and Bespoke #1 (a Vetiver scent).

The Fougere was my favorite of the four I tried, Woody Lavender was #2.

I wish he would start using waterproof labels though............

Another great run with the second shave.

He has now gone to larger tubs with waterproof labels.

I am really liking the Woody Lavender!

They gave away samples for the Asheville meet last month and I just fell in love with their Santa Monica Bay rum soap. I ordered a tub of that and a tub of the bespoke blend which is a little woody too with vetiver and pine i think. They sent a sample of the hollywood romance which is also quite nice!

Thanks for the review. I've been considering this soap and I'll for sure order some now. I try to be picky with soaps cause they last so long .

I'm also quite impressed with the LASS soaps, as I mentioned in my recent post. Their Topanga Fougère and Bespoke #1 really stood out for me, but I would be hard pressed to choose from the others, too.
When you are dead, you don't know that you are dead. It's difficult only for the others.
It's the same when you are stupid.
