Honestly I was hesitant to believe all the praise for MDC. It could not possibly be that good. Now I know it is even though I haven't used it yet. I do have the container and the beautiful box in my slingbag at work. It was a gift given to me by a friend whom I gave a safety razor and a ceramic shaving bowl with that weird dent where the brush is supposed to sit. He redlined on wet shaving and has spent weeks assembling the products for his den. Ok so a friend of his was in Paris and he surprised me today with a jar of MDC.
How do I know it is as good as they say: well for one, I have decided to climb Mount Everest without oxygen. People have said that I look 10 years younger already and I am smiling more, even though I opted to troll Ebay rather than put money aside for a plate to replace a couple of teeth I had pulled. And finally, I have decided to use my firstone of those since joining the forum. MDC is a way of life. I pity the fool that doesn't use it.

I hate to say it because of the high price but it's the best soap I've used that is currently in production. Better than my long time favorites Tabac, and MWF.

There are a handful of top tier soaps and MDC is one of them.

Thanked: 734I actually prefer their Fougere (did I spell that right?) scent better than the original. The lather is the same. In spite of the cost, I don't know how they make money. The stuff never seems to diminish. Has anyone used an entire jar of this stuff?

I have had the travel sized jar for a few months, and just got a full sized jar recently and the travel jar is just below the rim and the other one doesn't even have a dent. It's my favorite by a wide margin and I do literally 5 seconds of swirling on the soap then face lather, then 5 more seconds and swirl in my bowl and get huge puffy clouds of lather that would last probably 3 shaves, and the jar looks like it was just opened. I could talk all day about "the magic of MdC"

Thanked: 8626I had read a thread about 'saving lather'a while back. Rubbed a 28mm brush in and stirred in the scuttle, then face lathered.
THEN, I squeezed out the brush into the scuttle. I have had 3 shaves by moistening the tip of a brush and digging in.
It seems to multiply! I just love it!
Mine was a gift from Tarkus! Thanks, Darl!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

So I've been on the site in France and see several different types of the MDC, unscented speaks for itself, but what others are considered great flavors?
