Yeah, there's some really good/great soaps and creams out there. For price/performance Tabac is one of my top soaps. Czech & Speake is a top performer at a mid price (if you buy the replacement puck/without the aluminum dish ). XPEC is a really nice high performance cream. But.......MdC is just the best I've used based on performance and amount of product needed for a 3 pass shave, and...a mild pleasant scent!!
Of course, these are IMHO!!! Or, what is it, oh yeah...YMMV...but I bet...Not by much!

Howard

So I'm getting all smarty pants with my new jar of MDC in my shave safe....duh, how much is needed for a 3 pass shave say using a standard size thimble as a reference. I sure don't want to waste any lather!

I transfered mine to a glass container (since I got the small jar) and just swirl the brush on top. Usually about a dozen swirls is more than enough for 3 pass shave and then some.

I have had the travel sized jar for a few months, and just got a full sized jar recently and the travel jar is just below the rim and the other one doesn't even have a dent. It's my favorite by a wide margin and I do literally 5 seconds of swirling on the soap then face lather, then 5 more seconds and swirl in my bowl and get huge puffy clouds of lather that would last probably 3 shaves, and the jar looks like it was just opened. I could talk all day about "the magic of MdC"

I had read a thread about 'saving lather'a while back. Rubbed a 28mm brush in and stirred in the scuttle, then face lathered.
THEN, I squeezed out the brush into the scuttle. I have had 3 shaves by moistening the tip of a brush and digging in.
It seems to multiply! I just love it!
Mine was a gift from Tarkus! Thanks, Darl!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

So I've been on the site in France and see several different types of the MDC, unscented speaks for itself, but what others are considered great flavors?

Thanked: 284I believe there are only two scents the "original" which I believe is some sort of lavender, and then the previously mentioned fougere that is "fern". It's a very fresh scent- I think I agree that I like this one the best, but both are just sublime to me. And yeah the way these things last I think I'll have these jars a looooong time.
I don't have a lot of soaps, but my second behind MdC is actually Tcheon Fung...and it's fairly cheap.I love living in the past...

I remember reading on the MdC site
That a 200 gram jar should last a year.
