I don't have a lot of soaps, but my second behind MdC is actually Tcheon Fung...and it's fairly cheap.
Funny you should mention Tcheon Fung Sing in this thread as I often feel it's like a poor mans MDC. The lather shares some similarities if not quite as nice.

Haha yes, my feelings exactly. I didn't have a good way to describe it but poor man's MdC is perfect.

I have a jar of the original lavender and have had the pleasure of trying the fougere a few times, performance is the same (excellent) and both scents are heavenly. You can't go wrong with either, a must-have for the serious wetshaver

As for longevity, I don't remember anyone saying they've used up a jar yet. Mine has seen a lot of use since I bought it a couple years ago and the soap is BARELY below the rim of the jar. That alone should justify the retail price, at least in my mind.

I'm still waiting to hear of someone who's gone through an entire jar.

If you google MdC (Almost) Gone you will
Find a thread on another forum about an empty
    Jar.

I recently finished up my first jar(200g) and now I'm saving it to use for some Boellis Panama soap whenever I decide that I can justify spending the money.

It's a sad sight, seeing it empty like that but I've got two new jars that I've barely used, which is a big comfort even though I was a little disappointed when I realized that they'd switched out the paper labels for plastic but it's what's inside that counts so it's not a big deal.

Alright, time to come clean: just how long did it take you to finish a jar and how did you accomplish this feat???
