Hooboy! There are lots of them.. Mitchell's Wool Fat, of course.. most of the German soaps such as Palmolive, Tabac and Speick.. the Turkish Trio (Arko, Derby, GZD).. the Spanish soaps such as Lea and La Toja are all tallow based.

Stirling soaps are mostly tallow based and even include one made from hog tallow - that's right, lard - (Bacon scented) and one made from sheep tallow (Scots Pine).

Mike's Natural Soaps are tallow based and are very popular here.. sheesh.. the list goes on!

Mitchell's Wool Fat and Tabac. My old puck of DR Harris is tallow based but I believe they reformulated in the last few years and their soaps aren' tallow any more.

IMO tallow based soaps make lather that is slicker and more dense than glycerin based, though I'm sure others will disagree. I will also say that some, but not all, tallow soaps seem to lather easier as well.

    +1

IME, the very best vegetable soaps are on par with the mid-range tallow soaps with respect to cushion, glide, and slickness. Some with lots of glycerine have good strength, ie- hold up nearly as long as a good tallow soap though.

Does anyone have a recent ingredients list for any of the D.R. Harris soaps? I really want to try the Windsor soap, especially if it is tallow-based.

All your Green Mountain soaps made in the US are made with tallow and they are great. In fact the first ingredient is 'tallow'.
