Thanked: 0Not a big fan of art of shaving. It's mainly about the name with them plus they are a proctor and gamble company so that means big business and not necessarily better product. I rather get Proraso or Dreadnought sometimes smaller business take better care of what they put in their creams

I've tried AOS sandalwood shave cream and pre-shave oil.
I ditched the oil because it didn't work for me; all pre-shave oils have little affect on my shave, so I don't use them anymore.
The shave cream had a great scent and lathered very well.
Bottom line:
I find that AOS products are too expensive for their quality. I can get better performance from a $15 TOBS tub vs $25 AOS tub. Also, a $10 Proraso or $3 Arko are not far behind in performance vs AOS.You can take the boy out of NY, but you can't take NY out of the boy.

I have Art of shaving sandalwood shave cream, TOBs sandalwood and proraso red(sandalwood and shea butter). All of which get regular use.
For me though I do have a favorite and its not really close. And it is the AOS. I think it has great performance, easy to lather, and the sandalwood is my absolute favorite sandalwood scent I have tried.(have tried about 10 different sandalwood scented soaps)
There is always gonna be a less expensive alternative that works well. Just as there will always be more expensive soaps and creams that you don't like. I think it will be worth a try.
I also love their after shave balm. Leaves a nice long lasting scent that isnt offensive.
Don't like shave oils in general. I think they make my brushes feel weird.-David
