This is very disturbing. How many people started wet shaving because they SAW Williams or VDH on the shelf?

Now that I think about it, the brushes were also gone from the local counters.

I started wet shaving with Williams and a drugstore brush (still have the brush). Did you?

It is a lot better product than the Williams that is on shelves in North America for sure.

I used to see it at Osco and at CVS in the Chicago area, and have recently noticed its absence at both stores.

I didn't start because of it, but purchased some at CVS shortly after I started. Had trouble lathering it at first and it went to the back of the shelf. Pulled it out a few months ago and got a "wicked lather" from it! My technique changed and I just stumbled upon the right method. Now I really enjoy it. Of course, now I can't find it anywhere. I like to use it with a Burma Shave boar brush on my "nothing fancy" shave days.

Yep. I went to Kroger where I had bought it for years. What was left was half price. I bought it all. They did not restock it. I then bought 24 from Pharmapacks for about a buck apiece. Seems I am always giving some to others!

The best use for modern day williams is to lube wood screw threads that go into hardwoods,Is nothing finer.
