Williams Shaving Soap: Gone from local stores
I use Williams for purposes other than shaving. When I went to get a new puck I ended up on a quest. Walmart, Walgreens and two local grocery chains no longer carry Williams in their stores. You can order Williams online from Walgreens. The little blue a white box used to be a staple of any shaving counter. Its presence was as assured as the sun coming up in the morning.
Amazon has several vendors offering Williams but some of the prices are ridiculous. Pharmapack offers one puck for $0.89 (plus $2.39 shipping) but if you order multiple pucks the price goes to $1.46. Why The Face?
Has Williams disappeared from your stores?

I see it at almost every drug store or grocery store I go to. I'd maybe talk to the local managers of your stores and see if they'll carry it again for you.
I suppose you could also switch to Van der Hagen?"Willpower and Dedication are good words," Roland remarked, "There's a bad one, though, that means the same thing. That one is Obsession." -Roland Deschain of Gilead

I wouldn't doubt that Walgreen's dropped them from the shelf because it wasn't moving fast enough. Often they will special order it in for you. If they do, see if you can get a price break by ordering multiples. I live in Oregon. We have Bi-Mart, an independent company that carries a lot of the slower and hard to get anythings. Also Winco, a big grocery outlet with good prices where I just bought a puck of Williams for .85 cents.
Interesting note. My local Safeway's shaving section is jammed packed with the multi-crap and canned goop and every AS but decent ones and not one STYPTIC PENCIL. Asked the store manager and he said, I quote, "A what?" If that doesn't take the cake (chocolate please)."The sharpening stones from time to time provide officers with gasoline."

Wow... Before long there will be group buy threads for Williams and Van der Hagen... And, from the sound of it, maybe even styptic pencils, too!!!

I bought some Williams last week at Walgreens. Mine had a stack of Williams and VDH.
Ditto on the styptic pencil. I tried several retail drug stores before I finally found one at K-mart. The people in the drug stores didn't know what I was talking about.
