WOW!!! Ok, so I was a skeptic about how much difference a soap could make, but went ahead and gave this a shot. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! Took 1 pass on the cheeks and 2 on the neck to get an amazing shave. This stuff glides like silk!! This will definitely be my new soap for a while. I can't believe I just got this good of a shave in such little time.

I read Obie's recommendation and the Major's recommendation. I've been buying different products. So I thought, why not? Amazon is making this too easy.
Wow! This is the only thing you can say. I dipped the tip of the brush and made the lather in a scuttle. Endless hot lather, unbelievable lather, fantastic glide, and you guys are right the skin conditioning is rather incredible.
I used this as part of the pre-shave as well. I lathered up my face and then dropped a hot towel on top of the lather. I was surprised with how soft it made my beard!
Pricey, but great product, any other soaps or creams in this league? This cream is simply in a league of its own.
Best,
EdI routinely badger myself and the shaves are improving!

Ed,
Castle Forbes shave cream is another fabulous product. So is Xpec, although I am not sure of its future. The soap Martin de Candre is celestial. Santa Maria Novella cream is also a wonder. As for Truefitt & Hill's Ultimate Comfort, it is a magical cream.

Very nice review of a classic shaving cream and ASB. I rarely use creams anymore, but I'm certainly going to dig out my tub of this great cream from the bottom of my drawer and re-experience some wonderful shaves.

It's pretty amazing stuff...
Like all new soaps/creams it takes me a few shaves to get the product/water/build up ratio working.
First try and I think I had too much product but on the other hand I could do the three pass plus the pre-shave lather and face massage with no problems.
Hints and suggestions are welcome, I am a Boar Brush and face lather guy for the most part..can and do change as the material requires though..
thanks in advance for the tips...Support Movember!

MJC,
I am glad you now use Ultimate Comfort. It will take a few days to determine the cream and water ratio for a superb lather so keep working on it.

Not that it's a big deal, but you keep calling it a soap, while it is a cream. Even if a cream is very dense or in a tub it's not a soap. That's because not the consistency determines whether something is a soap or cream but the process of making the product. That's is why soft soaps, or croaps, are always soaps and never a cream, even when they are very, very soft. In general they tend to behave somewhat different as well.
DO YOU EVEN SHAVE?

Although not the cheapest, I do find it lasts a long time. I started straight shaving January, bought tub of ultimate comfort, TOBS, tube of Truefitt lime and tube of 1805. Have used the tubes a few times each, the tobs maybe 6 times, the ultimate comfort for almost all other shaves , and still have half a tub left. And I'm not stingy with the cream either, most shaves I end up rinsing a fair bit from the bowl after shaving. Good value in my opinion, and a very nice shave.
It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice
