Blade Wielder --- this is off-topic but after seeing your posted photos (with guitar) I said to myself that's a "Justin" if I ever have seen one --- and wouldn't you know you are one.
Later,
Justin (kind of weird how that happens)

John,
The Shavemac and Savile Row brushes have a lot of backbone to them. None of mine could ever be considered floppy. Personally, I'm comfortable with a knot size up to 26mm. I think that with a Shavemac, a 24-25mm knot is ideal. I did not order the SMF III (wish I had!) because I felt it would be to floppy for me. I have both the B&B in Silvertip and Finest. With my brushes, the Silvertip is a bit floppy, but the Finest is quite firm. I understand (no proof, just word of mouth evidence) that the Savile Row brushes are packed a bit more densely than the Shavemac brushes. That's why I'm selling off a few of less expensive brushes...I want a new Savile Row!
Sorry about the thread hijack!

I know I'm a bit late to this party, but just wanted to sing the praises of my far and away favorite TOBS scent...Shaving Shop. If I had to choose only one cream (and I've tried dozens...and dozens...and dozens) it would be Shaving Shop. I have not gone so far as to limit myself to this one scent (I still have and use about a dozen soaps and creams), but it is in my top tier; the pinnacle of the pyramid if you will.
As to the rest of this thread, I'm glad that I no longer feel the need to collect (or even try) additional brushes. I found the best (for me anyway, YMMV), a Simpson's Chubby 2 in Best Badger. After I bought it I slowly divested myself of all of my other brushes. None of them were being used, so why keep them.
Cheers,
Ed
