Thanked: 237I've been wanting this for the longest time, but from when I started shaving it has been sold out. The review on old town seems promising, SR Designs also has some, at a cheaper price, so I just put an order in on my credit card. I can't compare it to the original formulation, but when it gets here I'll be sure to write another comment here! So excited.

Thanked: 3795The original is very good so I would assume that they wouldn't put out the new version till they got it right, so I predict that you will be very happy with it.

Good show, Lynn. I am quite fond of Xpec myself and look forward to reading your thoughts on the new formulation.

Thanked: 237Ok i just got home from Christmas at my parents, and the xpec was waiting for me. I could not resist and decided to do a test lather and single pass shave. The smell, IMO is amazing, and I like it a lot! It is a strong scent, and I guess I see how some people do not like it. I don't think I had the soap to water ratio correct, so I'll have to spend a little more time playing with it. I'm currently used to MdC, which really blows up with very little soap. This was slowly disappearing and not building up like I would have wanted it too. All in all, my face feels great for just a single pass. I definitely see the potential and will do a three pass shave tomorrow morning and report back. After reading a lot of reviews, I was very skeptical that this cream could be better than MdC. My hopes are still very high, my water is very, very hard so maybe I'll use bottled water in the morning to see if that was part of the issue tonight, but I really think I was not loading enough soap before trying to lather.

Gentlemen,
I had received a small sample of the new Xpec and lathered with it today — I still have a bit of the older version left. There is no difference between the new and the old that I noticed. The cream is as exquisite as before, with rich lather, comfortable cushion and slick glide. After the shave, my Hollywood face was worthy of an angel's kiss. Of course, I'll need to give the cream several more shaves to make my final decision. In the meantime, I look forward to hearing Lynn's thoughts on the new formulation of Xpec.

Thanked: 4942I tried the new formulation today. It is a little harder than the previous cream, but once you load up the brush well, it is the same explosive suds at the previous version. Great cushion and glide. I like it!! I think I may back up a tub this time just in case.
Have fun.
