I think you will like it. It's one of my favorites. It might seem a little hard to create a good lather but once you get it down its great. The lather lasts for hours. even when it's dried up in the bowl all you got to do is wet the brush and and you can create lather again using old dried lather from your last shave

Very good soap, it was my first many years ago while DE shaving ,my taste have moved more towards the MDC and Castle Forbes types , but you should not be disappointed once you unlock the secret to making it lather well , good luck and , it's cheap so practice with it till you know it's right. I have never had any other soap leave my face feeling smooth and hydrated like after MWF, exceptional soap!

It's a real middle tier sold performing soap. I've always felt the thing that kept it from being in the top tier of soaps was it's scent. Not bad mind you but not top notch.

Very nice soap if you can get the lather right, (some people have troubles). It can provide a ton of cushioning and has a "soapy" scent, as apposed to perfume like a lot of the other soaps. Enjoy!

    Gentlemen,

Mitchell's Wool Fat is a fine all-around shave soap. It lathers well, once you learn its personality; cushion and glide are good. Although I don't use it as much as I should, my humble shave den is never been without it. Good stuff.

It's interesting to see all the compliments-with-caveats about MWF. I've always found it a breeze to lather: brush, water, swirl, done! Even I can figure that one out. It's a superb moisturizer. The scent is perfect: leathery, soapy, manly--or maybe just clean. Definitely affordable. There's no better soup out there, allowing for personal preferences, naturally. I have a dozen or so of the fancies, but MWF gets the majority of the action.
