When I'm ready to shave, I put an almond size drop of Cremo Cream in the mug. I then load my brush with the soap I'm going to use (be it hard, cream or whatever. Once loaded, I then swirl the brush for about 30 seconds in the mug before face lathering. Why? Because the mix is still economical (the Mitchells & Cremo last about 6-8 months) and I consistently achieve perfect creaminess quickly with any soap and slick with NO nicks. Yes, that is one way of making an "uber lather" and as you say they work very well.
