Has Anyone Tried Cremo Cream?
Hey everyone. I found an expensive cream in a Walgreens a few months ago and decided to give it a try because it claimed to be the slickest cream on the market. It seems to dry too quickly for use with a straight, but with a safety, especially in the shower, it works well. If I want to use it with one of my straights, I think I will have to have it standing by with a brush and mug. It's made by Cremo Company, LLC in Laguna Beach, Ca. Question: has anyone tried it and what did you think about it. I need to find a shaving cream that will stay wet while I shave slowly. I'm very new at shaving with a straight. I shaved about 70% of my face with a Thistle Brand Bamboo razor a few days ago. I cut myself in 3 places, 2 of which I didn't feel and were very tiny; the 3rd one I felt. They all quit bleeding pretty quickly, with the help of a very cold, wet wash cloth. Thanks.

I ended up with a tube of Cremo...and I don't have to explain that here in the safe place.
And I've been using it as a pre-shave just to use it up.
Massage it on the wet face with wet hands for 30 seconds - then load the brush, then soak the face with a wet washcloth for 30 seconds and face lather.
In a few days I'm going to find out what happens when I run out..
Don't have plans to replace it - and as to the slick thing, remeber most of the world still does not know what they are missing when it comes to how nice shaving can be...so I'm sure this Cremo is some improvement when compared to canned goo...Support Movember!

Thanked: 3226Most people have the problem of the lather drying out when they first start with a straight razor because we all go slowly then.
IIRC Cremo is a brushless cream and does not work well with a brush. You might try applying it to only the part of your face you are working on then the next part and so on. I have used it with a regular shave soap and brush for an uber lather and that worked well enough.

I use it for head shaving sometimes and my wife uses it for legs.
I rub it on to my wet face and just add more water as it dries or is scrapped off with the razor. It stays slick with the added water. It really gunks up a razor, but it's sometimes easier than trying to keep my head lathered.
It should work good for shower Shavers.

I think you'll want more cushion for a straight shave. Until you gain speed you can lather 1/2 or 1/4 of your face at a time. Not like your in a hurry

Thanked: 375Tried Cremo Cream and as Bob pointed out it's brushless. I agree it's slick, but when it puts my shaving brushes out of work, it's not for me. You gotta do or use what works for you!

+1 on BobH about mixing Cremo Cream with your favorite soap to make uber lather. A little dab of Cremo Cream, a few drops of glycerine, a brush loaded with your favorite soap mixed in a heated scuttle and you end up with thick, slick, creamy warm lather that will spoil you. I do agree by itself with a brush doesn't work that well but for making uber lather its hard to beat.

Thanked: 23It gunks up a safety razor and doesn't stick to a straight. I thought the slickness was OK but like the others I much prefer traditional brush and cream/soap.
