Most underrated soap/cream under $20
Curious to what everyone's pick is in a cheap soap/cream? Yesterday's shave was fantastic with razorock mudderfocker. Always get a great shave with it. It is the cheapest I own price wise other than Latoja. yet it outperforms some of my more expensive stuff. So what's your pick.

The standard/plain VDH I don't really care for,,, then one day I saw the VDH luxury soap next to it, like a dollar more,,, tried it & I think its a very good soap.

Thanked: 3228Both Arko and Palmolive shave sticks are very under rated soaps in the sub, way sub really, $20 category. They work as sticks or I have formed them into bowls for normal brush loading and face lathering. Hard to beat the lather they both make for shaving. The Body Shop Maca Root cream is another that doesn,t get much mention either. I have bought a few expensive/high end soaps/creams, well over the $20 mark, in the last year and will likely not buy any more as I do not find the difference worth the money. For me there are plenty in the sub $20 range that work just fine.

Thanked: 3228Had the same experience with the VDH soaps. I tried the plain pink/flesh coloured one, Deluxe I believe, and was not really impressed by it. Just got a puck of VDH Luxury Unscented and have tried it a couple of times now. The VDH Luxury soap is a different animal all right making a very good lather. I'd have no hesitation using it if they sold it up here in the stores.
Since it is made in Texas I wonder if it lathers well with hard water?

Thanked: 1185Funny, I stopped by specifically to mention the VDH line of soaps (both standard and luxury) both are fantastic performing soaps that can be had at any Walmart or drug store for not very much money. Definitely top performers at their price point. They wouldn't dare excommunicate three veteran forum members the same day, would they?

Thanked: 1185And of course, I'd be remiss if I failed to mention Arko Shavestick. The smell is a bit off putting to some but here in Florida, the citronella smell helps keep the state birds (mosquitoes) at bay this time of year LOL! My public health regimen dictates lots of gin and tonics in the spring time to gangload quinine and plenty of Arko shaves in the summer. Been doing it for years and have yet to contract even a hint of malaria.
