I've never had a bad soap/cream that lists "coconut acid" as an ingredient.

Thanked: 220I have found that a couple of consistently easy to lather soaps are Proraso & Tabac. Of course, you'll have to experiment with some different kinds to truly see what works best for you.

Thanked: 26I've actually found quite a few American artisan soaps that have performed quite well for me. My current fixation is with soaps from The Chiseled Face. I have nothing against traditional scents from the well established companies (in fact, one of my favorite soaps is Proraso Red), but I really enjoy the off the wall crazy scents such as Chiseled Faces' Redneck, which is described as follows:
"A hearty, manly mix of engine oil, gunpowder, dirt, and leather; this is not for the refined or fain of heart. Open the can and the smell of a auto parts store will assault your nostrils, spurring you to do your own handy work with whatever tools come to hand – even if they consist of nothing more than duct tape and WD-40."
So, I guess I'm not as refined as some are, but I'm good with that!

Thanked: 26It actually does smell like walking into an auto parts store. I was intrigued by what I read about the scent, but wasn't sure if it was something I would want to shave with, but I just couldn't resist. I'm glad that was the case, because I really do love shaving with it.
An interesting side note; When I asked the owner of Chiseled Face why this soap didn't have an accompanying aftershave like most of his other scents, he said, "Do you really want to smell like this all day? We had fun making the soap and love shaving with it, but we didn't think people would want an aftershave that smells like an auto parts store.". Can't argue with him there.

For an aftershave with it, you can just splash on a little Marvel Mystery Oil.
