Be sure and let us know what you think when you've had a chance to use them.

FCSC Bay Rum, to me, is not quite as spicy as CC but more on the sweet side. For me, I like it with a lime splash.

The lime really does something for Bay Rum, I wasn't really interested in the scent until I got a whiff with lime. Fresher, cleaner.

Default Having tried First Canadian Shave Soap

Straight to the point, I tried the two I bought and compared them to MWF and Tabac and they are every bit as good a lather, if not better. I shaved for four days with the FCS alternating scents then one day each of Tabac and MWF. The only knock against FCS is that it won't stand up to heat in a scuttle, the lather collapses fairly fast. But it is great at a cold shave and on the bright side I realized how nice a cold shave is in the summer! I also found a cold lather is mitigated by a hot razor, just run some hot tap water over it. I like to buff my tougher spots and if anything, the FCS performed better than the other two for lubrication and sliding back off the razor onto the face during the back stroke. Maybe it's the silk they say it contains?
The Vetiver is a nice earthy scent and the Bay Rum Lime is sweet and mild with a definite leaning toward lime. Here I'd have to say the scents are milder than I usually like, but I like my soaps to be more like aftershaves in strength of scent and aftershave to be more like cologne
The soap is semi soft and loads fast and easy and the containers are large, the same diameter as Barrister and Mann, and let my big boar brush spread out without spilling over the edge.
This stuff definitely has a permanent place in my rotation and I'm looking forward to trying some other scents. They did send two not so small samples as well, Esther's Peppermint & Grapefruit, and Loretto Lime & Rosemary. These samples are dollops in plastic baggies and are two to three times the size of what you usually get in the little plastic tubs.
