Thanked: 3226First Canadian Shave Soap Co.
I stumbled onto some comments referring to this shave soap on the net and was interested especially as it was a Canadian produced product which is fairly rare. The soap comes in two sizes so I gambled and ordered two of the large sizes to try out. Both were tallow based. Communication was good and the soap was shipped promptly. They arrived yesterday.
I shaved with the South Simcoe Sandalwood soap this morning. The tub is nice and wide for easy loading and the scent was pleasant but not overbearing. It loaded easily and produced a rich, thick and slick lather for my 4 pass shave. It did not leave my skin feeling dry. So the initial impression was very good. I doubt that impression will change much with further use. I'd say it is a solid product at a decent price. If you are a Canadian and want to support a fellow Canuck it is worth considering and even if you are just looking for a good shave soap to try Canuck or not.

Thanked: 4827Another Canadian soap is Elvado, made in Newmarket Ontario. It is a vegan soap and very new to me. I've had one shave and give is a thumbs up.

I too saw some comments about First Canadian elsewhere and went searching for it. (You know me and soaps, Bob!) Great minds and all that.. heh. Anyway, I couldn't find them directly but I did find an online store that carries their stuff Badger Shaving Co. Fine Grooming Supplies. That might help you Firefighter.

Thanked: 2There are quite a few really great Canadian shaving soaps out there now. I've shaved with, and love, the following: first Canadian, soapy bathhman, copper hat. I haven't tried Elvado yet, but the wild mint scent is really awesome. There is also a new one on the way from a local buddy: Bro Shaving Co.

I ordered two pucks yesterday, Vetiver and Bay Rum with Lime. I'm hoping the Rum pairs well with Captains Choice Bay Rum with Lime aftershave, which I like.
