Gave Tabac a try. Glad I did.
Been using a variety of Mama Bear soaps for about a year. Got around 20 samples and picked out 5 favs to get.
The other day started to think about trying some of the other options.
Decided to go with two popular and love it or hate it soaps.
Arko and Tabac.
Just tried Tabac this evening.
Have to say. Very glad I did. Like the smell and the performance. Nice close irritation free shave. This will certainly have a frequent spot in my rotation.
Bought the Arko at the same time to get free shipping.
Will give a SITREP on that ASAP.

Haven't tried Tabac yet, it's hard to source where I'm from.
I do like Arko ocassionally, just a word of caution: you can really mess up the lather easily and then end up in a hate relationship. The soap is otherwise quite alright (the ingredients btw aren't that great). Anyhow, the way I do it is I rub it into my stuble real well. Just when you think you've done it enough, go and do another round. Then face lather... works great that way. No doubt you can still use a bowl fairly effectively.
I only posted here because I actually ended up throwing my first Arko stick in the garbage, cos I thought it was crap. Turns out, it kinda is, but lathers and works well when you learn how to use it
I also posted to share my love for Mama Bear's. Great stuff. Just used one tonight in fact!As the time passes, so we learn.

I've thought about tabac a few times but haven't pulled the trigger on it. Just can't seem to get past the chance of not liking it as I see so many people say they love it or hate it. I prefer the cleaner scents. From what I've read tabac is kinda heavy on the Stetson cologne side. Is this correct?

Thanked: 4207My $0.02 on Tabac AS is that it is a strong fragrance, but spicy, not sweet like Stetson. Haven't tried their soap yet, trying to wait till I actually use one up that I have. It is the next one I will buy though based on the feedback that it fits perfectly in an old spice mug, and that I already love the scent.
YMMV but it's worth the risk."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

Thanked: 4828I really like the performance but my better half is not fond of the smell. I just left for work this morning so it will be soap and aftershave of choice for the next three weeks. I will use her favorite scents when I return home, until then Tabac it is. I also like La Toya and Volobra soaps. Arko is an easy one too, although the scent is not wooo hooo the performance is quite reasonable.

I actually use Tabac fairly regular. it is in my top 5 it is number 5 I have others that edge it out as far as scent, I,m kinda like Rez on the wife front , so its been mostly when I worked , although I have 4 soaps I like better ,, but the lather Tabac gives you is really good , and the face likes it too,, as to the scent , well I think 70,s fits it very well , and no its not Stetson at all, mix it with the Tabac EDT and you have a very respectable shave. now as to what Mainaman said ,Saponificio Varesino,, is now my number 3,a very nice gift from Cudarunner and it is a very good soap with my MDC at the top , and Castle Forbes number 2 , and if you would like to try a soap that is not expensive and at number 4 on my list is Institute Karitte. enojoy the Tabac , if the smell isn't your cup of tea stay with it , cause it grew on me , plus the lather keeps you happy tc

I have quite sensitive skin to an unknown quantity in a number of soaps I have tried. The Tabac cream, surprisingly, does not affect me so and does provide a wonderful easy to use lather. It is therefore the cream I use daily. At some point I will branch out and try something different again, but for the past 6 months or so, Tabac has been the daily use. Add glycerine to the cream and the lather gets even better. I am assured, although I've never tried it, that the combination of Tabac soap, cream and glycerine is an even more sumptuous combination.
