    Default MDC All Gone!!!!

Went to shave I reached for my Martin de Candre and noticed it all was all gone except for a residue on the bottom of container. Was actually able to shave with the residue, but now I need more. Think I will have to get the big jar this time, which I should have in the first place. Wish someone sold it in the US, but I'm willing to pay the shipping since it is a great soap and the little jar I had lasted forever.

My wish also. Without the shipping costs I think this would be a very a very popular soap. Well, it is very popular as it is.

Might be cheaper from the manufacture , it didn't cost that much before. I only paid around 80 for it last time , old towns is charging for getting it here and then their profit ,, I'd check MDC site first ,, maybe it's a lot more than it was 2 years ago. Tc

There are other Frnech soaps that are also very good, may be even better than MDC at lower price. Give them a try if you are not a hard core MDC fan that is.

The shaving soap "des Volcans" is very nice too : Boutique de la savonnerie du bon berger en Auvergne

Not as great as MDC, yet way cheaper.

The soap "du Père Lucien" is known to be great too, but I don't know how much it costs.

The MDC is still considered on our french forum as the top of the top.

Le Savonniere du Moulin is another one that is worth trying IMHO. For me it produces better lather than La Savonnerie du Bon Berger.

I also think Saponificio Varesino is up there with MDC in qualities but cheaper.

Well, my preference goes to the savon du volcan, but the soap du moulin is nice too (especially the smell).

I don't know the saponificio varesino, is it italian, spanish ?

Tcheon fung sing is a little less artisanal, but has my total preference for the quality regarding the price (the barbe rosse is really top if you like the almond smell, and the lather is extra).

1000mL for around 20€...... Still waiting for a better offer

Just did some looking and it is about $10 less to get it from the manufacturer than Old Town Shaving. Looks like the shipping is a few dollars less now than it was awhile ago. Seen some threads about some other soaps/creams that I haven't tried yet and want to get those also, but really been limiting myself on new soaps/creams. There are few soaps I like to have around MDC, VDH luxury soap and Cella. I use other stuff aswell, but I usually like to replace them with something else that I haven't tried yet when they run out. Helps me limit the stockpile of soaps/creams. There are far to many soaps out there.
