I remember trying the shave gel in a can I used with cartridges when I first got my straight...it didn't work so well. After using a soap and brush there is no going back!

you can try a good quality shave oil...like Village Barber or Meissner Tremonia. Work the oil into your skin well. Then wet the blade and it will glide over your skin. It works very well and you can see everything! Oil works as a post shave as well.
