The scottish smells different when you apply it than when you smell the puck directly. My wife says the puck smells like bacon. Once applied it has more the peaty aroma.

That was my observation as well. I always found the Castle Forbes limes variant too sharp for my taste.

With the original poster, I did find it easier to make lather with Castle Forbes.

But then Castle Forbes is as fool-proof as it gets with regards to lathering. As long as you remember not to drown the Meißner Tremonia products (more so than others, as it is something to be avoided in general), I found lathering it relatively effortless, especially compared to something like, say, Esbjerg's shaving soap. Which does work really well (apparently skin care is spelled with a capital E, har har) once you get a good lather.

My routine with Meißner Tremonia soaps: Drip as much water as you will eventually need onto the puck. Shower. Flick brush dry, transfer excess water from soap to bowl, dip brush in soapy water, load, repeat, lather, done. Fool proof, fast, efficient, repeatable. This approach works with any soap, but some - like Meißner Tremonia - take particularly kindly to it. If you take it, you will not find any difference between this soap and Castle Forbes (because you are, effectively, working with suds and a softened soap).

As an aside, would some kind moderator please fix the subject line of this thread? In the overview, slowly double click on the subject, then replace "b" with "ß". This typo is really making me cringe. Like Dübl Dück, or Wåþǣ & ßūtčά. KTHX!!!!!!
