Well in response to this thread (and after reading utopians lucky results) I have been using my Williams. I've never had a problem with it. I soak it for 5-10 minutes the first time I use it and then just use it as any other soap. Thick lather in seconds. No fuss. Doesn't smell the prettiest but it smells like a 'mans' soap. Not the best not the worst. For the $ it's pretty damn good IMO. I'll keep using it for a while but I don't think I want to use any soap exclusively until it's gone. Could it be in the skill of the user?

Could be but haven't changed anything about how I lather in a really long time and used brush and soap even before switching to an SR.

Had a new puck of Williams given to me a while ago. Gave it a go last evening. Didn't have a problem getting it to lather. Kent Infinity synthetic brush. Like the classic smell. Shave was ok. But not much protection. Resulted in some irritation. Also left my face feeling pretty dry. The puck is now on the shower shelf. It will be used on the rest of me instead of my face. Just my .02 cent.
