Default Clubman Pinaud Shave Cream - BEWARE !

    Hello Guys,
I just received my order of Clubman Pinaud Classic Barber Shave Cream. Now everyone knows that I love Clubman Pinaud products, especially their aftershaves & colognes, but there is no love for this product.

I opened the box to find "2" nice , heavy tub/jars of product. The scent was very nice & each tub/jar has 453 ml of cream.

I noticed right off the bat that the cream looked a little thin, light in consistency.

I then chose my two best lather brushes, a Thater & a William Barber custom (The Queen Bee).

I soaked the brushes in hot water, then dipped the ends into the product. I worked the lather in a bowl for 45 seconds. It was obvious immediately, that this product was not a lathering cream.

After seeing the result or lack of it, to produce a lather, I decided to play it safe and use a vintage Gillette (currently my primary DE razor) loaded with a Shark.

I used the product loaded in the brush for one side of my face. I then used my fingertips to apply the product to the other side of the face. The shave began,,,,,,,

I had "1" day's growth, thank God, there is no cushion with this product,,,, four passes to get the shave complete, 2 passes WTG & 2 passes ATG.

To the product's credit, it did not dry out, even as thin as it covers. I used a lot of product, keep this in mind.

Thank God for alum & witch hazel,,, I needed it.

I could have gotten the same or better result from a bar of bath soap or mild dish soap.

What really pi$$ed me off was, my badger brushes had a residue left on them that was unacceptable. I had to clean them both & recondition them.

To say I am disappointed, is an understatement. I won't even bother to send the remaining product back,,,, I will use the tubs to store pennies in.

    Thank you for reading,

Thank you for taking one for the team...
I have not been to the POB after returning from out of town....where mine is probably waiting...
And I believe that Lynn commented that it was a "brushless cream" - whatever that is...
I will keep the Piggy's away from it.

So how is the hard soap going?

This must be a terrible mistake. Casting aspersions on what is obviously some fine high quality product that lathers with the best of them.

I'm so upset I just can't go on.

John , to muck up a William Barber ,, how dare you? You need to send it up to me so I can put it in the stable with my herd of William Barbers to rehabilitate it. Again thanks for the revue.
