@Obie: Have you tried Phoenix & Beau? I have found it similar in performance to DR Harris.

I ordered several soap samples from the list. Just finished DR Harris. I haven't nicked myself in years, but I did twice with this soap. Coincidence? Could be. Lack of cushion and glide? Could be. I did notice that the lather "falls" before I get to the left side of my face after shaving the right side. No big deal, but it is an observation. So far, Xpec leads the pack of samples, with Antica Barbieria Colla a close second. Next up, Castle Forbes, which I am looking forward to. As always, YMMV.
Hyperbole is highly exaggerated.

Spending 5 days at my summer cottage in NC...brought along only one cream, the "top tier" Sartorial in a minimalist dopp bag ensemble.

Ben,
I have not tried this soap. Most U.S. made artisan soaps that I have tried have been disappointing in various ways — Barrister & Mann and Mama Bear are an exception — and every day there is a new one out. Someone once told me most of them are alike, with which I tend to agree. Not only that, but the kaleidoscope of fruity and spicy fragrances in them completely turn me off . It has reached a point where I prefer not to spend money on them.

Thanked: 4206Received and tried the krokos today for the first time.
Impressive glass jar, wide mouth, low stance and good lid. Nice packaging.
Lovely sweet saffron scent and bright yellow tone to the soap.
Tried it with my Thater 4125 and white dog scuttle. Whet the tips of the brush, swirled it 6 times each direction to load up, added a few sprinkles of water in the scuttle as required to get the whip I wanted.
Lovely lather, nice lubricity. The lather clung together in the basin off the blade as I rinsed. Only other soaps I have with that cohesive strength are SV, and Tabac.
Two pass pleasurable shave with enough still on the brush for a third or fourth pass. I used my Williams SRP so two was all I needed."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."
