OK, took awhile for the coin to drop as I was wondering about what exchange rates had to do with shipping. I meant you are lucky as it takes about $1.50 CAD/AUD to buy a EURO and the Kiwis have to pay about $1.60 NZD for a EURO. Not all dollars are equal.

The shipping to Canada is likely the same or close as for the US as it all comes out of France and has little to with our postal services.

They tend to throw a sample or two of their other products. I agree the shipping is pricey but at least they backed out VAT.
Shaved with MdC this am, what a soap - so excited!
Yes, I got a Sample bar of soap which has my master bathroom smelling nice. At first I thought it was Penhalgons but I remember now, it is the MdC.

Main thing is it was a lot cheaper to order from MdC instead of The Old Town Shaving Co.

My order came, much quicker than expected. Well packaged. Now my question is...I like my soap and aftershave/cologne to complement each other. Does anyone have a recommendation for coordinating with the fern (fougere) scent?

Moonshae, try WSP Fougere Noire aftershave. It's not quite MdC but I really like their version and IMHO it complements the soap nicely. Here is the scent description from their site:
Fougere Noire - Based off of Drakkar Noir, this is an aromatic fougere with top notes of bergamot, rosemary, lavender, middle notes of cardamom & geranium, and a dry down of vetiver, cedar, and fir balsam.
    (They also offer 1oz samples)

I'm curious what others suggest to complement MdC.
    Cheers.

Shipping isn't much at all. Maybe $4? That's what I paid for shipping on the MdC site.

That was for two of the Savon a razor Fougere, 200 gm each

If you get them from Old Town Shaving, it is much more.

Shipping was around a week, +/- a day or two.
I ordered mine last Thursday and got it yesterday.

Yes shipping was quick 6 days from order to the knock on the door to sign for it. Great service from all the way across the pond. So in about 6 years I,ll call them again! Well maybe not that long. Wife wants the bath soaps now , grandsons got a jar and so on and so on. Tc

Thanks for the tips on scent. Based on Drakkar Noir is a deal killer for me; every guy bathed in that stuff in college and I have no desire to invoke that now. Geo Trumper Wild Fern sounds like a good try.
