crabtree and evelyn
I was recently given a nomad shave soap in a wooden bowl by crabtree and evelyn. I was wondering if anybody here has tried this soap and what their thoughts were on it

I recently purchased the Nomad cream and it is worth every penny. C&E soaps lather up really nice and lubricate well throughout the entire shave. You will not be disappointed.

I had great experiences with c&e creams but I found their soaps to be impossible to work with. If you build up a proper lather, it dries out in mid pass, without looking like it dried out.

I see what you mean about the soap drying up. Is there anything I can do about that or should I just find a new soap?

I ended up using mine as a bath soap. Two of our members -- Colleen (churley) and Giovanni (tryphon) make excellent soaps that you should look into.
Colleen -- Great glide, nice strong scents
Giovanni -- Superb lather, more neutral, fresh scents
You can't go wrong either way.

I love the Sienna and Nomad soaps. They don't dry out on me- I think its a water balance thing.
Now, I don't think they're as good as Colleen's soaps, grab some from TGQ also!

I have a question for you guys. How long does it take you to shave that your soap dries out? I have never had any soap dry up while I was shaving even some of the cheap stuff..

I have more success with triple milled soaps than glycerin soaps because of the hard water we have. As you experiment with soaps, make sure you're trying both triple milled and glycerin based soaps.
