Abbate Y La Mantia
This is a newcomer in artisanal soap maker scenario.
The great idea of this is including saffron into soaping process.
Not just the fragrance, but all the dermatologic effects of this incredible plant.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saffron
At the moment there are four soaps.
Abbate Y La Mantia — Home
• Crumiro ... remembering a classic italian cooky
• Laureato ... with a nice laurel note, but absolutely classy
• Vegano ... is a unique carrot and lattuce fragrance
• Krokos ... remember the bothanical name of saffron, is most concentrated and incredible
Being in ilRasoio forum togheter, asked Mr. Abbate to have the pleasure to try his revolutionary soaps.
He honored me to purchase samples NOT available on market.
I've not fronted the needs to repack all them four:
Not tried yet, but the smell during repack session is absolutely stunning!!

I'm using these soaps into my rotation, and they are quite amazing.
Need some job to lather its best, but result absolutely nice.
Some pics, always after three pass shave, of what can produce in L&H the remaining of 1g:
"Laureato"
"Krokos"
"Vegano"

I have the Saffron and it's top tier all the way. It lathers easily, great lube and cushion and the lather lasts. The scent is slightly more than subtle and is different from the usual complex and heavy scents. The trick is you have to like saffron.

Italian Barber has it....I just ordered the Krokos(Saffron)...little pricey, but as a soap wh0re, I'm fine with that......
I read that the Laureato smells exactly like Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel, while nice as a splash, I'll pass on it as a soap...YMMV.

You can also order it directly from the maker but the shipping is very steep though it comes in 3 days. Better to buy it from the U.S.

Andrew I,m a soap whore myself although I haven't bought any in a long time. I've tryed just about as many as humanly possible in my years of wet shaving, right now I've just come to the point where i use what works the best and what I like , especially post shave, so for the last year or so it's been MDC and Castle Forbes, but this is one I have to try and with Nelsons comment in another thread about it being the best he's ever used, I am inclined to order this right now and see if it fits in my shave den.
My last effort was the ABC and though a great soap was not to my liking, but this has promise. Thanks guys. TcLast edited by tcrideshd; 08-13-2016 at 10:32 PM.

Yea...I could try new soaps everyday, along with mixing up the brushes, really like experimenting that way.
I also wanted to try to ABC, but as soon as I read Almond, no way Jose, can't stand the smell of the stuff in a soap....a handful of them great, but not as a soap, so agreed.
Lately, I've been trying to use a soap 2 to 3 times in a row to really get the feel for it. Problem is, with a straight, I really only need to shave every other day. No point in just doing a one or two pass shave, so I always end up with a BBS shave, so every other day it is...and it's hard to really mow through your soaps at that rate....LOL.

The almond is what got me too, it is strong, not like the Panama Boellis which is subtle for an Italian soap, but had to pay it forward. I,m cursed with having to shave everyday, two days and I look pretty rough so I get to really test a soap, when this comes in I,ll do at least a two week run on it to give it a chance and different approaches to getting it right. Thanks. Again guys. I didn't need my money anyway. Tc
