    Default "Fresh" Scented Soap

    Hi Everyone,

I am wondering if anyone could direct me to a soap that has a "fresh" type of scent. I am unaware of anywhere that sells shaving supplies near me so I am unable to pick my soaps in person. I have tried several online orders from recommendations from others and i have had some poor results finding a scent that I am looking for. The closest scent to something i would be happy with is proraso. Unfortunately I am not a huge fan of the mentholated soap. I am looking for a DR harris or comparable quality with a Fresh Scent. I would also be amicable to any suggestions that have "classic barber scent". Thank you to anyone who may choose to respond.

If I could have only one soap & the scent is clean & mild,, it would be Cella.

    Hirlau,
On your reccomendation I have ordered the soap. I have seen you all over the forum previous to signing up and I feel I can trust your judgement. Thanks for the feedback.

It's a very good soap,, kind of soft & lathers quickly,,, provides a great cushion. Cut off a small square & section the rest of it up as explained above & place in the back of your refrigerator; some even freeze it. Take it out as you need it.

Proraso white and Pre de Provence fit the "fresh clean scent" description.

Depends on what you call fresh. Those who live by the sea think salt water is fresh, the guys in the mountains, the scent of trees. You get what I,m saying? Maybe you think Downy fabric softener is fresh. You don't need to live near a soap store just grab as many samples as you can find the web and try them, I personally find MDC fresh. You want old time scent from a barber shop then go Clubman. Or Tabac, but if you can't find scents you like then get unscented. Too many variables here like in the thousands.

P.s. Some guys on ranches think cow crap is fresh too. Tc

You can order sample soaps and creams online. I would check out Magga
rd Razors, read through descriptions and pick a bunch of samples.

A few of the artisans offer samples, so you can read through the descriptions and choose which you prefer.
"Clean and fresh" can have quite a few interpretations for different folks.

I wouldn't say Cella fits this description as the marzipan (almond) scent is quite pronounced. However, YMMV.

I am sorry for the vagueness of the scent. I have tried DR Harris Windsor and Arlington and it was sort of the opposite of what I was looking for. I am looking for something that doesn't have what I would equate to a sort of musky or spicy smell. I did also try Mama Bear vanilla sandalwood I enjoyed the sandalwood smell but the vanilla was a little too strong for my tastes. I guess I will have to continue to buy on recommendation I am just hoping this explanation will put a little more perspective on the scent I am looking for.
