    Always found Palmolive shave sticks made good and slick lather. Use either as a stick or grated and compacted into a bowl for use as a puck.

    Wet shaving products, Stirling soaps, and Route 66 shaving soaps are all great and very slick.

    Mine is - it's a handmade blend of Arko, Williams mug soap, glycerin, aloe vera gel, and for a slight fragrance, I used some Haggard Razors Green apple artisan soap. Heated and blended into a semi soft type mixture and stored in a tub. You mix that in your lathering bowl with just a little water and you have loads of very slick and luxurious lather.

    I agree with Obie in that slickness has much to do with proper hydration. Given that, the slickest soaps I've ever tried are from L&L Grooming. Other soaps I find exceptionally slick are I Colaniali, Santa Maria Novella V3, and Mike's.

    benjamin - i love my stirling soaps. ill need to try route 66. thank you.

    johntoad - any chance i can talk you into carving off a small sample of that home brew?
    id happily pay for sample and shipping.
