Thread: Best sandalwood

I love TOBS sandalwood scent but want a better performer. Anyone have anything that gets near that scent but better performance, the proraso red scent was hardly sandalwood IMO.

Castle Forbes Lime shaving cream is a top performer and smells wonderful. I'm planning to try their Cedarwood & Sandalwood next. Maybe someone having experience with it will comment on its scent.

CS is very good scent, not my favorite but it's sandalwood. And you can't beat the performance of CS, it's top tier all the way. Tc

Vintage Art of Shaving Sandalwood soap is probably the best performer and an real Sandalwood scent. Pucks are often still found on eBay. The current AOS Sandalwood cream is also nice. Mystic Water has several nice Sandalwood soaps: Sandalwood, Sandalwood Rose (my favorite), and Vanilla Sandalwood.

My brother gave my and AOS cream at Christmas. The scent is great. But the performance is not the best. I get a nice lather but my face doesn't feel so great when the shave is over. Its not as protective as other creams/soaps. If it wasn't for the scent, I wouldn't bother. I like it more than TOB in terms of performance. The few TOB creams I've used did not impress me at all. Castle and Forbes is great but I don't get any sandalwood from it. Its all cedar to my nose. Proraso is a good choice. Its a good lather, fairly protective, and smells good. The scent is not as good as AOS but good.

Fine Accoutrements makes a sandalwood soap and aftershave. The AS has a nice sandalwood scent. I've not tried the soap but have read positive comments about Fine soaps here at SRP.

I think Captain's Choice makes a sandalwood cream and aftershave, too. The OP might be best served by ordering samples.

I really like the AoS sandalwood cream. Very nice scent a a very good performer. I also like the Castle Forbes Cedarwood and think it is slightly better performer, but I like the AoS scent better being a pure sandalwood scent.

Has anyone tried the captains choice sandalwood soap, I enjoy their aftershave.

I have the AOS sandalwood scented puck and I love the scent. I have not tried to many soaps so as far as performance I would say it is one of my better performing soaps. On a side note I just bought sandalwood scent body was and stick deodorant and its great stuff, it is Everyman Jack I believe Target sells it or its on line.
