Thanked: 38You gotta get you some Barrister & Mann Seville. Also, your tag says your in Arizona and it looks like you have nothing with menthol in your arsenal. Fine Accoutrements Snake Bite is a good lathering tallow. Nothing like a mentholated mid afternoon shave on a summer day when it is 114 degrees out (I used to live in West Texas).

Thanked: 25As a straight razor shaver since 83’ I have personally chosen not to try any soap or cream that cost over about $18.00 give or take. Can afford it? Sure! But, honestly I don’t see the need to try anything much more expensive that DR Harris at$18.00 bucks. Tabac is great! I like Fine American Blend though it tends to dry on my face sometimes. I like Taylor of Old Bond soap. I have a small tin of Klars I picked up for $16.99 that I haven’t tried. I have Shannon’s that I haven’t tried. I ordered some TOBS CREAM. I have some Trumper Cream. It’s not bad. Right now I’m sort of rotating Harris, Fine, TOBS, and Tabac. Of those I like Tabac and D.R. Harris.

Thanked: 25I just received a 4 oz puck of Men’s Soap Sandalwood. I took an old double edge razor and shaved just a tiny bit off after which it fits nice and snug in an old spice mug. I plan to give it a try today. At $12.99 it’s in the ball park of what I like to pay. I tried the Klars a couple days ago. It lathers well and smells great but it dried a little on my face so next time I’ll use more water. I tried TOBS almond cream yesterday. It was nice. I’m not used to using cream though so I need to work on my water content. Besides the Men’s Soap Co. I still have some Shannon’s that I have not tried. For me, if it lathers well and it’s slick, I’m going to use it and will purchase again. I used Trumpers Almond Soap for years. I saw some negative reviews but I really like it because it doesn’t dry on my face. But, with Trumpers Soap it takes a minute or two to work past the bubbles and suds and get it to the right lather consistency. It’s a matter of personal preference. People like what they like. One thing I’m for sure liking is my Thater 4125/4 B three band brush! It’s a monster! I read where the Thater two band is better for Soap than the three band. I’m in to my third week using it and I can tell you it works great with hard Soap! I love the 30mm knot. Wish I’d bought a 35mm! It’s the nicest brush I’ve seen. I retired a 25 year old small silvertip brush. No idea who made it. It has Col Conk logo. It has surely served me well. I enjoy reading about what other people enjoy shaving with.
