    Default Castle Forbes 1445

Is this a new offering from Castle Forbes? Has anyone tried it yet?

Somewhat recent, hit the, "First Tier Creams and Soaps" thread, Obie's one, it's covered there fairly well.

It's fantastic, for me, after the Lavender, it's my favourite offering from them....great stuff.

Thanks you for your input. I just bought a puck. We all have different taste I guess. I love Castle Forbes but I just hated the scent of the lavender.

I love the Lime and have been wondering about this new one. Guess i will have to see what Obie had to say about it.
    It's just Sharpening, right?

I really enjoy the scent, and will probably order the cologne to go along with it as I see myself using the cream fairly often. I have so many lavender, lime, and wood scented soaps and this one is a refreshing change to the CF line up.

They've offered the 1445 balm for some time. It's a cologne scent, 'green' or 'sharper' (less sweet or heavy)than AdP or Alvarez Gomez colonia.

Get a sample of the balm from Maggards for a $3 and you'll know.

    Cheers, Steve

    Product description from Amazon:

"Fougere scent of freshly cut grasses & ferns in a base of lavender, tarragon and citrus."

It is a fougère, but certainly a lighter, cologne type fougère, probably leaning more toward cologne than fern, and is nothing like English Fern or other fougères that we often experience in shaving soaps. At least for me, it's a very enjoyable scent.

Had my first shave this morning with Castle Forbes 1445.

I predict this soap will be another huge hit for them.
Absolutely stellar Castle Forbes performance, but that's come to be expected.

Like evnpar said it is a complex fougere scent that is a little cologne based.
If I were to compare, If you like DR Harris Windsor, you will love this.
It's a little different and a little lighter scent.

Overall I love this, as I do all Castle Forbes soap, and will keep it permanently in my rotation.
