Default Edge Gel is Super Dry

Because my newborn doesn't leave me much time for shaving, I'm sticking to DEs for now.

I had an unopened can of Edge gel laying around, so I decided to give it a shot
Oh boy, what a bad surprise! This thing is so dry. And adding some water in it before applying to the skin doesn't salvage it either.

I ended up getting irritation on my cheeks, something that would _never_ happen to me using a soap/cream and brush. And that was doing only 2 passes!

Now I really understand why we call our hobby 'wet shaving'!

I can't use Edge at all, it causes me to breakout and my face gets very irritated. Barbasol actually works way better for me when the super rare need to use that stuff come up

Does you terrible experience mean we don't have to stage an intervention for you?

    Congrats on the new arrival!

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Yep, cheap barbersol is way better. And I was using a str8. Put the kid down to sleep, and take the monitor witchya.. Worked for me...though the wife didn't like it, I needed me time too, I told her.

What does an SRP intervention look like? I might look forward to one

When purchasing any shave soap/cream/foam/gel, always read the listing of ingredients. If you cannot pronounce most of them, it is probably best to avoid them.

If you must use a canned product, you will find that Barbasol contains some of the same ingredients used in shaving soaps. However, it still uses a propellant to generate the foam. That propellant can dry out your skin.

If you are in a hurry, there are some decent creams that can even be used without a brush. Cremo and Kiss My Face are two products I have used with or without a brush. I prefer using a brush, but you could get by without one. I prefer a good shaving cream or soap, but when traveling, I normally carry a tube of Cremo and a synthetic brush.

Twelve sages who have just completed a perfect BBS shave circle you and chastise you by taunting you with accusations of secretly using a multi-blade followed by demanding self-flagellation with a roo strop.

Roo strops lack sufficient heft for adequate flagellation.

I agree, a heavy Russian tanned would be better suited.

Or this might be the one instance when I could recommend the Kanayama 90,000 over my Kanayama 3.
