Too bad because I think it is a very good soap and worth the trouble once you get it figured out.

I just started using it a couple of months ago and like it. The smell is light and leaves the skin in less need of hydration than a lot of other soaps.
It must be a hard water thing because I have no trouble at all in making a nice lather.

I’ve used MWF for almost two decades! It is my regular goto shave soap! The only soaps/creams that compare with respect to post shave skin feel are Nancy Boy and Haslinger Schafmilch. These are the only three soaps/cream I use. MWF’s been around since the late 30’s despite what it says on the crock, Haslinger since the 40’s and the new kid on the block, Nancy Boy since 2002. I don’t like stinky soaps, so these three do it perfectly for me, fabulous lathers and incredible post shave skin feel. It just doesn’t get any better! At 73 I’m just not interested in any others!

It’s all personal opinion, MWF is a very good soap. The best? It and a few hundred will deliver good shaves,
We have so many soap threads that it appears every soap is the best

So if you like it that’s all that matters,

    Yep
In all these soap threads I've seen nothing to take me away from MdC, CF, and Tabac

Right you are, Dave. Martin de Candre and Castle Forbes are unbeatable. As for Tabac, I absolutely love it. Love the performance in every way, and the clean and soapy fragrance, with a hint of tobacco, intoxicates me. Good stuff.
