65 soaps and creams? Man, you have serious SAD. But you wont be out of shaving lather, forever!
It's just Sharpening, right?

Oooh, goodie! Another blind lathering festival coming my way courtesy of David. He must've heard my whining about not having tried out any new shaving software for a few years.
This time around we can rule out the many variables inherent with beginning wet shavers. Looking forward to trying something new and having a blast while doing it. Thanks, David.

Thanked: 292Jerry
If it were just a case of SAD, that would be one thing, but I also collect straight razors, hones, strops, and brushes. I can purchase quite a few soaps for the cost of one custom razor. I try to control the monthly outlay on shaving supplies, so I am careful not to purchase too many things as once.
I just hope I live long enough to get my money's worth. I figure I have enough soap to last until I am 82 years old, even if I never purchase another one. However, it is more likely that I will live past 82 than it is that I will refrain from purchasing another soap. I really enjoy the scents and textures of great soaps. They add a lot to the enjoyment of the shave.

I’m more about the soaps than just about anything else. I love the scents, the cushion, etc., etc. But more than anything, I love how a good soap can make my face feel after a shave!!
65 soaps isn’t really that bad. If a soap is on average $15.38 you’ve just about pushed the one grand mark. It’s everything else that adds up so fast. Balms are expensive.
What worries me is the soaps losing thier scents after a couple of years. That’s what I thought I found, so I stopped buying more than 6/7 at a time.David

I think i have 10. I just wish I could enjoy the scents more. The "after the shave" feel is what seems to matter the most for me.
I've still haven't figured out why some say winter or summer soaps. It's just Sharpening, right?

I've got all of 5 soaps which explains David's cleverly disguised way of taking pity on me.
David, I believe Jerry's saying that he doesn't get why some folks would categorize a soap/cream as being best for a particular season and not another. Given I only have 5, I'm in the same boat with Jerry. So, I'm really interested in my take on some of these scents which have labelled thusly.--Mark
