Gentlemen,
Within reason, scent is the last element I consider when evaluating shaving soaps or creams. Lather's texture, moisture, cushion, glide and after shave properties comprise what's more important for me.
This especially in light of my ultra sensitive skin. I find many products with extreme scents, which are created by a smorgasbord of ingredients with fancy names, irritate my skin and are cause for an unpleasant shave.
Scent is far too subjective to use in rating a quality soap or cream. For instance, scores of artisan soaps or creams boast of robust scents — floral, earthy, woodsy, and so on — but I find nothing impressive about their performance. The same is true, in my estimation, about some of the big names. They may have a great scent, but fall short in overall performance.
Baum.Be, in every way, meets my expectations from a quality shave cream. What's more, I love the clean and soapy fragrance, and the subtlety of it, especially. The scent is soft and pleasant. Warm. Yes, I love the warmth.
One of the loveliest scents on earth, again for me, is that welcoming air upon entering an old time barbershop. Baum.Be reminds me of that fragrance.

UPDATE/SHAVE # 2:
I’m pretty sure that we’ve beat this whole scent thing to death, but I would like to say that I enjoyed the scent considerably more today than I did yesterday. That and the Fine l'orange noir splash between the shave and the balm, is a really nice compliment in my opinion. My wife literally said, “Oh you smell good.” after my shave today.
Ok, so I didn’t try and find the creams breaking point with water today, so I made a nice thick lather. It’s SO EASY to lather! I used too much cream again - you really don’t need much.
I did a two pass shave with a couple of touch ups. Glide was great but still no where near the AdP, but a bit better than what I recall of AoS. It’s good!
I kept using the word “light” to describe the cream yesterday. I’m going to change that to gentle. It works wonderfully, but it’s gentle as it does so. It’s just a nice product to shave with
Somehow my face doesn’t feel as hydrated today, I think I went a little hard on the splash, but boy does it feel smooth. I like this cream.
As I said, I’ll shave with it for the rest of the week. I don’t think there’s going to be anything so inspiring to post about until it’s over, but I’ll give you all a wrap up on Friday (ish).David

FINAL UPDATE:
I totally blew it this morning bowl lathering my Baume.be. I was in Osma mode and added an entire brush, soaking up tp it’s gills in water and went to town! It was SO liquid initially, I thought I was going to have to start over.
I kept at it and was rewarded. I’m a little surprised. I thought I’d lost it.
At the end of the day, this is a slick cream that is stupid easy to lather. It’s gentle on the face - you are never going to feel this cream overwhelming. And it does it without adding menthol or some kind of citrusy scent. After a week of using it and the balm that goes with it, I’m well pleased. My face feels great.
As much as I like it, I doubt i’ll Replace it, but only because I like more scent. As discussed at length, I like the scent, and when I go back to rotating my soaps every day vs every week, I know i’ll Look forward to it, but I would like some more.
I can see how gents with sensitive skin would LOVE this cream, but I prefer the Acqua did Parma myself.David
