I love the scent of Henri et Victoria Cognac and Cuban Cigar, but I was disappointed in the performance. However, it does perform like many other $15 soaps.

That soap triggered a allergic reaction!
Burned my face to no end. No other soap has done this.

I have to work hard to get a good lather but as it's the only soap I have tried I just assumed that hard soap was harder work.

Maybe when it's finished I should try a different hard soap, any ideas for an interesting scent thats about the same price?

Wow, thats a shame. I thought it was all handmade with natural ingredients.

Luckily I haven't had any reaction because it was my first ever proper shaving soap and a bad experience may well have pushed me back to spray goop and the cartridge razor before I had even given a straight razor a fair try.

Three of us tried samples from the same puck. I was the only one to experience discomfort. Just my skin. Could not rinse it off fast enough!

Henri et Victoria Cognac and Cuban Cigar shave soap caused a burning sensation for me also. Very nice scent though. You just never know when you will get a reaction to a shave soap while most others do not. I will say that I have never got a reaction from a non artisan soap though.

    Skin is different.
The only bath soap I can use is Oil of Olay or Dove.
Anything else breaks me out, even MdC bath soap.

No wonder you didn't believe the lye soap wouldn't work!

Cmon most of you guys know that just like Fight Club where you dont talk about Fight Club on this forum it is dont talk about how you think MdC is over priced, you dont like it or your $14.00 puck of whatever gives you just as good of shave... Because all it does is get some people upset and then we get told we are jealous of them and THATS the reason we have a negative review of said luxury items... Jeezus!
