Holy ****. If you'd asked me how many shave soaps were available I probably would have said 30 because "it has to be more than I think it'd be". I have one.
If you're wondering I'm probably being sarcastic.

After doing a bunch of testing I've gotten rid of soaps and bought others. So now the spreadsheet has 59 soaps. Rotating threw them all is taking some time and taking up more space than I have in the bathroom.

I had loads of soaps some probably 10 years old easy (very easy). Some lost most of their scents and some just didn't smell good or look good so I pitched probably 20 tubs.

At this point I have maybe 10 tubs and I'm finished buying soaps until I use up at least two gone for one new and that's after I use up 5 more first.

    Gentlemen,

Martin de Candre, Castle Forbes and Tabac have kept me smiling for many years.

Taylor of Old Bond Street creams, D.R. Harris creams and Baum.Be creams linger until they’re gone. Now and then I like to try something new, such as Zingari Man and a few other artisan soaps and creams and move on after they’re gone.

I have slowed down buying soaps and creams. The three constants in my humble shave den will always be Martin de Candre, Castle Forbes and Tabac — if the Lord is willing and the creek don’t rise, that is.

I guess I have enough to last the next 20 years, I’ve pretty much gotten rid of everything but my MDC, in an experiment, I found that I can get a full *2 pass with touch up shave with only 2 swirls of my brush on the soap. one day I will do a video, But seeing as it only takes that much my 10 jars should last, plus throw in a little Castl Forbes every now and then. My tabac is gone so that’s it 2 soaps

Wow. I am a complete noob around soaps and cremes. Or at least I feel like I am. I did recently use some St. James of London - rich foam, kinda liked it. Has anyone tried it?

    FOAM.

That's a dirty word around soap/creams snobs like us! Dense thick creamy lather is what I use.

St. James of London is a good cream. Cushion and glide are fine. The cream lathers well. I have the mandarin and patchouli scent and it’s lovely. Good stuff.
