Default you may have enough shave soap when...

You have to make a spreadsheet to keep track of what you have so you don't forget one, or when you might need to replace a jar.
I have recently done this. I bet a few folks here may have more than me but at this time I'm at 36 different soaps.
A few containers of the same kind because I liked it so much.
    Does this qualify as S.A.D.?
    It's just Sharpening, right?

I am not certain as I, easily, have double the amount that you have. However, I don't keep a spreadsheet and just go through a rotation.

Currently, I have about 180 soaps in my collection representing some 80 different soap formulations. I track them using a Microsoft Access spreadsheet that includes the scent notes and ingredients of each soap in my collection. It also includes notes of my evaluation of both the scent and performance of each soap. I can easily sort on such things as ease of loading, ease of lathering, primary slickness, residual slickness, cushion/protection, post shave feel, scent strength, and scent preference. Those metrics are the summed to provide a performance metric and an overall metric including scent ratings. Of course, I can also sort on soapmaker, formula and scent types. Buttons activate macros that quickly do the required sorting.

I currently have enough soaps to last me for the next 25 years, but I am unlikely to live that long. Thus, I am now going through my collection to remove soaps that no longer live up to my high expectations for performance and scent. Many of them will probably end up in a PIF when I complete the culling process.

Even though I have too many soaps, I still enjoy evaluating high quality soaps. I have two new soaps on the way to my den for evaluation: A&E Asian Pear and A&E Kaisen. There are a couple of limited releases (Barrister and Mann SoftHeart and Gentleman's Nod Cardinal) that I missed and hope to acquire on the next release.

I currently have 3 soaps. Usually around 8-10. But I have used the last of my Castle Forbes, my Tabac suffered the same fate. I have 3 jars Of MDC, and a brain bowl, some MWF, a half puck of Green Mountain. I used to try everything. Lately it’s been I’m happy with what I use so haven’t wanted to try anything else. I will replace the CF, too good not to. But 3 years ago, there could have been a hundred or so

Counted all my soap, what I use, don't use and have in stock.

Jerry, don't worry, your spreadsheet is smaller than Ray's

At the moment I have tried four soaps (Proraso green, white and red, TOBS sandal wood) and I have a fifth waiting (TOBS Lime). For most of you, dear friends, it is almost nothing but, for someone like me who needed a jar of shaving foam for a year, is a lot! That's why my wife started looking at me strange and shakes her head Anyway, what is a S.A.D.?
