Problem with Colleen's soaps
Well, I've got a problem with these - I can't choose a favorite. They are all so good each in its own way. Good thing she went on vacation, or I'll have to start shaving my head/chest/arms/legs/etc so that I can use these soaps.
I'm looking at my current 1oz one both with sadness (that it's shrinking) and expectation (that i'll have the next fragrance)
How do you guys solve the problem with too many soaps that you like - a rotation of some sort?

I know the feeling. I have maybe 3 dozen soaps? Probably 8-10 are Colleen's. I put some away based on season. That at least gives me some respite in my daily selection. I'm thinking of pulling out 3 or so soaps and sticking with them until they are done. I don't know....so many choices.
Can't wait for winter and desert ironwood though.

Thanked: 5I have a 1oz puck of - almost - every soap colleen has offered in the summer sale and regular lineup, 28 total (i didn't get "Earth"...yet). I'm pretty focused on using up 2 tubs of some cheap soap I have before I dip into Colleen's soap full-time. Each time I shave, I make a new lather for each pass just to speed up the process. Once I'm ready to use colleen's soap, I'll pick 5 randomly and use them till they are gone and replace with another scent as needed.

I've reached the point that I use the same brush, soap and razor for one week. Boring? Not at all. During the week, I truly learn the outstanding qualities of each item. And the shaves? Better than ever!

Thanked: 0I do something similar ... I use one soap for an entire month, using each of my 4 brushes in regular rotation. When I get to my Vulfix, I take a break and use whatever cream tickles my fancy ... but then back to the same Soap Of The Month.
At first, this was hard to do, not picking up a new soap every day, but about halfway through my first month of this I noticed that I was getting some really good lather ... much better than before ... and looked forward to lathering up that soap again the next morning ... 'cream day' was almost a let-down ...

Same problem as most here, fortunately I went through about 5 or 6 of the 1 oz pucks over the last 2-3 months which was good for me. But I still have 4 different 3 oz pucks which can take me quite a while to go through, even switching between the two mugs I have. I took Colleen's advice in this area, cut off about 1/3 of the large puck, melt it in the microwave (about 10 sec) and then stir to keep the clays suspended until it begins to harden up. Alas, it still takes a while to go through even that much, but you can switch between soaps often enough to keep the soap lovin' alive!

This may be a solution to a probmen I have been having. I have been leaing towards the creams, as I get better lather, but there are so manu more choices in soaps. I haven't gotten the same thick lather with soaps on any consistent basis. I have soaps from MamaBear and Colleen. I put a little water on the cake or in the container and let it sit while I am in the shower, then I take my brush (big Vulfix) and work it into the wet soap, then put that in a mug for lathering and then plop the lather into my Moss scuttle.
Is it possible to grind at the soap too hard with the brush? Should I scoop out a chunk of soap, put it in a mug, and use that until it is gone?
I like to get the lather to the consistency od whipped cream, as the heat from the scuttle will break it down a little.
Tips?
As for having too many soaps....could it be that soaps and razors and the man's version of women and shoes/....
