    Default Colleen's Soaps... Awesome!

I now know what has been missing from my shaves- a quality soap from Colleen! I recently got my first order from her and tried it out. I got a 3 oz. puck of a custom pour soap (Pumpkin Spice). Previously I had been using large brand soaps (known for wetshaving products) and had never been able to get a consistent lather. It always had something that wasn't quite right. I had also tried using several different lather methods, but always with something going wrong. I started to think maybe it was the brush or my own technique (mind you I could always get a good shave although my lather might not have been great). So finally there came an opportunity for me to place an order with Colleen of The Gentlemen's Quarter and I jumped on it.

Well that did it. Best feeling soap I have tried. It was so slick on the face and built a lather effortlessly. It seemed like the soap could be very forgiving too in terms of the amount of water used. I had previously heard that to get a good lather with her soaps you needed to use more water than usual- but that wasn't the case. I used my best lather method (not even being particularly careful about my water and soap use, etc.) and the lather took almost no time at all. It built perfectly and was very comfortable and well-scented. I almost couldn't believe how well it performed. By the end of a pass it had neither dried out or become drippy. I can say now that I think my shaves will be forever better. Thanks Colleen!

That's good to know. I ordered the Cavendish Black
and Leatherneck shaving soaps and threw in an
Orange Chocolatier bath soap to keep the wife happy.
    Can't wait to use them.

You can't beat Colleen's soaps. But you can whip them

I need to get another order in, one of these days, though my supplies are quite stocked.

Yeah i totally love colleens soaps and her creams. Her creams take some work to lather since they work off a hundred year old recipe with none of the artifical lather agents modern creams use but the lubrication and the smell is awesome. I am always after her to make the smell stronger cause I love her scents and want to be enveloped by them but I know some faces can't take it. My favorites are the Desert Ironwood, Bay Rum, Cavendish Black, and Leatherneck. Please try her stuff and throw the williams away! You won't look back especially at her prices!

I got spoiled from the start, I started out using The art of Shaving's creams, so I never thought Williams was any good... Once I started using Colleen's and Mamabear's soaps The AOS cream has gathered dust...
I'll back these guys, throw the Williams away... Try Colleen's...

Colleen is a wonderful person. I ordered a couple of soaps and a cream from here. She was kind enough to answer a couple questions I had and treated me more like a neighbor than someone off the street. The soaps are very nice as well. Mamabear is just as hospitable, I have a couple of her wares in transit and am looking forward to trying them out.

Just letting you guys know- I've never tried Williams. When I said that I have used large brand name soaps I meant some better quality soaps than Williams. I do agree though that if you do in fact use Williams, get some of Colleen's instead and save yourself a lot of trouble.

I didn't think you were using williams Phillidelph. I just cringe when someone else tells me they use it. For $10 get rid of the crap and go with Colleen. Or even pay $4 each and get her 1 month sizes and enjoy. There is a reason I have her and Mama Bear in my kits. They have a customer for life from me.

I like the 4.00 soap anyway. I like to use one or two up before starting a new one. I am using TGQ soap exclusively but would like to try Mbear.
