BURT'S BEE'S
I don't know how many of you soap fellows care that much, but a while back i was trying to purchase some of this mug soap from a couple of the Burts Bee's dealers here in Utah. I was told that it was discontinued and gave up on the quest since one lady who sold it told me that she even called them directly and asked for some and was unable too. Well i just happened to stop by thier web site and saw that they had it listed. I ordered a few pucks. SOOOO i don't know if it was actually unavalible, but i thought i might pass along that is avalible now.
fyi.

Thanked: 7I think I made a mistake today when I bought the Burt's Bees shave cream. It seems more like lotion that my wife would use than shaving cream. I tried to lather it up, and I just got a slimy coating on my bowl and brush. I guess I'll try it in the morning, and see what happens.

I've tried the Burt's Bees aftershave lotion. Too greasy and it smells a little like booty.

Thanked: 7It was just slimy, almost sticky, goo. It was so bad that it has already been returned. The only good thing about it was that I appreciate my Proraso even more now.

Burt's Bee's Shaving cream
My wife just picked some up for me yesterday, so I gave it a try today. The only thing I can compare it to is Lush shaving cream. The one plus is it did smell better than Lush, and I could actually rinse it off my razor. The Lush no mater what you did you couldn't get it off. The only way I could ever recommend this stuff is if some one absulutly didn't want to use a brush, it works bettter than Lush and actually used brush less better than Kiss my Face. Now before I get blasted I'm not saying it's better than Kiss my Face with a brush it is one of the better shaving creams out there. Brush less though Kiss my Face just dosn't cut it. I hope I can talk the wife in to using it to shave her legs and keep her hands off my Taylor avocado.

Thanked: 79The soap is likely being discontinued because it sucked. The lather was typically thin and sudsy (that Herban Cowboy stuff even lathers circles around it) and often caused irritation as well. The only two things it had going for it IMHO (and I may still have a puck of it somewhere) were the fact that it was slick and that it has a very nice bay rum smell to it.
Unfortunately it sucked to shave with.
I heard a rumor they were trying to reformulate it, but I never saw any of the reformulated version, at any rate.

Ditto on the suckiness but you can use it with Glycerin & shave cream a la uberlather and make the best of a bad situation - or not.
For the price I'll just use it as a bath soap. The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.
