Penhaligon's English Fern Shaving soap (still made with tallow) is unbelievable! Saks in NY is where I got my two pucks by mail. It is a notch above Tabac, if you can believe it.

Black Cavendish. Hands down. This is my "favorite soap" most of the time.

But scent is very important. A nice citrus is a good pick me up, the above is sophisticated and relaxing, Leatherneck is relaxing and manly, And The Arizona Goats Milk Soap company makes a scent that is to me just plain addictive. The scent of the soap sets the mood for the shave, this is what makes the daily cares float away so you can concentrate on and get full enjoyment out of your shave. Unscented soap is like a fully dressed dancer, its doing its job but its not a thrill.

I am an avid Momma Bear's soap fan. I have more than I should and love them all! MWF and Tabac are also favorites.
