    Default Best soap anyone?

I'm sure this topic has been discussed before, but I wasn't here Still using Classic shaving's Classic soap, has a neutral smell to it, lasts forever, lathers up and doesnt fade, so far has lasted for over 6 months.

I'm looking for the tickest creamiest, richest, sexiest, soap I can get my hands on (this website influences to upgrade in a bad way), and how much does the smell influence your choice? (I always felt neutral on the soap, as aftershave kinda takes over. Very interested in your choices and why.

Since your're in NY (I'm assuming near the city), head to Cambridge Chemists at 65th and Lex. Then back down around 62nd-ish and Lex is Pasteur Pharmacy. Both carry a huge selection of excellent soaps - especially the high end English hard soaps - which I'm partial to.

I really like Floris soaps. If I had to choose one, Floris would proably be it - well, Tabac is up there too. Trumper soaps are very good as are DR Harris soaps. These all have scent. If you prefer no scent, try Mitchell's Wool Fat soap. Art of shaving soaps are also excellent.

Try a bunch and see what you like.

The threes T's (Trumper's,Truefitt & Hill, Taylors) are all very good, Floris is Better then them all though and the tabac is good ... if you want hard triple milled soap

but try TGQ, Colleen (Churley, here) makes excellent glycerin based soaps that are a pleasure to shave with!

I really liked the Honeybee Spa soaps, but my soap experiences are rather limited. I found Proraso and dumped everything else (into the classifieds, not the drain).

A big +1 on Colleen's soaps! Best I've ever used, bar none.

Penhaligon's English Fern Shaving soap (still made with tallow) is unbelievable! Saks in NY is where I got my two pucks by mail. It is a notch above Tabac, if you can believe it.

    Take Care,
    Richard
