Matt,
Always tough when one you want is taken. I had that problem years ago but the owner was just a reseller buying hundreds of what he hoped would be popular names and then waiting for people who wanted that name.
I have owned a few names in my day but all are either variants of my product names or things I have actual plans for. those were plans have fizzled out are left to expire so others can use them. I don't want competitotors stealing names like Heirloom Strops, Artisan Strops, etc.... but did let go old photographic business names and such.
Can you rethink your name and at least take something close, still a ".com" but maybe change the first part and use it until the other one possibly becomes free. Through GoDaddy a name can be had for less than $10 a year.

Thanked: 0not so much, im changing my original business name slightly to start with but i want to keep the business name with the new one im using and just have DBA with my old mane and another variation on it.
im going to have to work through it and figure it out. and as for getting the names registered and all my brother can get it done for me and take care of all that junk along with building the sites so im not worried about that too much, just need to talk to people to see what they think will work when it comes to remembering and all that jazz
