Thanked: 1262How does MWF compare to Tabac?

Ah, the unanswerable question! I love them both, they are equally GOOD, in my humble opinion, but they are very different.
Tabac has more cushion, MWF has more glide. I'd say they both allow equal closeness and comfort.
MWF has a light scent, pleasant to me. Tabac has more scent...some hate it. I think it is OK.
Tabac has a nicer lather. MWF doesn't fluff up as nice, well, it does, but to get it to do so, you have to add too much water, and ruin the experience! Leaving it a little less fluffy is perfect for me.
They are the only two soaps I use at this time.

I tried shaving with some old conks/vdh combo i had... i ended up added some proraso cream to it because it sucked so much.

If you are using one of the basic soaps like Williams or VDH or Burts Bees and then try the Classic it is a real upgrade and all in all its not a bad soap but once you go to the Wool Fat and the triple Milled English Soaps your in a different category altogether.

What, no WHY?
Why is everyone shredding pucks all the time? Poor little pucks never did no harm to no one...little fellers just want to help!
Here's how you treat a puck: Get a bowl. Put the soap in a bowl. Finished. If the fit isn't tight, give the soap puck a couple of swirls with your brush, turn it over and the pre-lather will "glue" the puck down.
It doesn't need to be any special bowl. Tupperware, anchor hocking, whatever fits.
